Solar and Wind Power Generation
Village Energy sells a complete line of gird-tied and off-grid solar-electric (photovoltaic) modules.
The new SkyStream from Southwest Windpower is quieter than most horizontal axis generators, and works well in lighter winds. It is one of a growing number of units specifically designed for urban applications.

Saving You Money Through Energy Upgrades
Images of solar modules and wind turbines have come to symbolize the ‘green revolution.’ For the home or business owner they offer energy independence and security in the event of power outages. Although their returns are modest, there are now unique ways to benefit from them. Net Metering has been available since 2006, allowing homeowners to effectively run their meters backwards as they generate their own power - eliminating the need for stacks of deep cycle batteries. As of last November, home and business owners can even become micro generators and sell renewable electricity through the Ontario Power Authority in 20yr contracts. Under this program grid connectivity is highly subsidized, and generators are paid .11c/kW for wind and .42c/kW for solar energy.
